At the Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC

Jarbath Art, Embassy of Haiti, Ambassador of Haiti, Katiana Jarbath Smith
Katiana and the Ambassador of Haiti Herve Denis and Katiana and her selected pieces (June 27th).

After responding to a Call for Artist from the Embassy of Haiti and anxiously awaiting a response, the email finally came June 5th. As an artist that holds my culture in high esteem, having my artwork adorn the walls within the Haitian Embassy in Washington DC only solidified my purpose. Pride, honor, recognition, joy; are only some words that help describe the array of feelings that I am feeling. I flew from Palm Beach to be there for the soft opening June 27th. Arriving at the Embassy of Haiti was epic. I was able to peruse the hallways as I was served delicious hors d'oeuvres made by Chef Dimitri Lilavois. Each of the artists that attended were recognized personally by the Ambassador of Haiti, Herve Denis.

I am honored and humble to have this opportunity. I look forward to where my artwork will take me next!

If you're in the DC area from now until December 31st, 2019 please take the time to visit the Embassy of Haiti and stop by the Cultural Expressions in the Art Show.

The work of 30 artist whose work was selected for the show are on display and available for purchase.
